No matter how many times you watch it, or read it, it always hits home.
Atticus is of such excellent character, as a father and as a
good man who tends to his duties in a righteous way. So much to learn from this
story.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Atticus (Father): You never really understand a person until
you consider things from his point of view
Jean (Daughter): Sir?
Atticus (Father): Until you climb inside of his skin and
walk around in it
Jean (Daughter): But if I keep going to school, we can’t
ever read anymore
Atticus (Father): Do you know what a compromise is?
Jean (Daughter): Bending the law?
Atticus (Father): Uh. . .no. It’s an agreement reached by
mutual consent. Now. . .here’s the way it works. You concede the necessity of
going to school, we’ll keep right on reading the same every night. . .just as
we always have. That a bargain?

Maudie sums up about Atticus' life as a lawyer to his son
- "I don’t know if it’ll help, but,
I want to say this to you. There are some men in this world who are born to do
our unpleasant jobs for us. Your father’s one of them."
